Evaluating the Frequency of Resistance to Pyrazinamide Among Drug-resistant Strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Isfahan, Iran

Background: Pyrazinamide is one of the most important first-line medications for treatment tuberculosis and an alternative intake MDR-TB XDR-TB patients. Objectives: The purpose this study was to evaluate resistance pyrazinamide in isolates resistant Mycobacterium drug patients city Isfahan. Methods: In study, susceptibility test performed with using proportion method PZA assay on 47 tuberculosis. Then, mutations pncA rpsA genes were evaluated by sequencing method. Results: According method, 19 cases pyrazinamide, 16 which had their genes. Besides, five new recorded, three lacked mentioned Conclusions: high INH mono-resistant isolates. Therefore, evaluating before initiation considered essential.
